इदं सु मे नरः शृणुत ययाशिषा दंपती वाममश्नुतः । ये गन्धर्वा अप्सरसश्च देवीरेषु वानस्पत्येषु येऽधि तस्थुः । स्योनास्ते अस्यै वध्वै भवन्तु मा हिंसिषुर्वहतुमुह्यमानम्
idáṃ sú me naraḥ śṛṇuta yayā́śíṣā dámpatī vāmám aśnutáḥ | yé gandharvā́ apsárasaś ca devī́r eṣú vānaspatyéṣu yé’dhí tasthúḥ | syónās té asyái vadhváí bhavantu mā́ hiṃsiṣur vahatúm uhyámānam
Hear ye, O men, this word of mine, by which benediction the wedded pair may win them good. The Gandharvas and the Apsarases, the goddesses, who have taken station upon these wooden things—kindly to this bride let them become; let them not harm the bridal bearing as she is borne along.
Dengarkanlah, wahai para lelaki, sabdaku ini—dengan berkat (āśīṣ) ini pasangan suami-istri memperoleh kebaikan. Para Gandharva dan Apsaras, para dewi, yang bersemayam pada benda-benda kayu ini—semoga mereka menjadi ramah bagi pengantin perempuan ini; janganlah mereka mencelakai usungan pengantin ketika ia diarak.
