Sukta 1
इह प्रियं प्रजायै ते समृध्यतामस्मिन् गृहे गार्हपत्याय जागृहि । एना पत्या तन्वं१ सं स्पृशस्वाथ जिर्विर्विदथमा वदासि
ihá priyáṃ prajā́yai te sámṛdhyatām asmín gṛhé gārhapatyā́ya jāgṛhi | enā́ pátyā tanvàṃ sáṃ spṛśasvā́tha jírvir vidátham ā́ vadāsi ||
Here may what is dear to thee for offspring prosper; in this house wake thou for the gārhapatya fire. With this thy husband touch thou thy body in union; then, being vigorous, shalt thou speak in the assembly.
Di sini semoga apa yang engkau kasihi demi keturunan menjadi makmur; di rumah ini berjagalah demi api gārhapatya. Dengan suamimu ini, sentuhkanlah tubuhmu dalam penyatuan; lalu, dengan penuh daya, engkau akan berbicara di sidang.
