ब्राह्मण उवाच भूयः पृच्छसि किं श्रेयः परमार्थन्न पृच्छसि श्रेयांस्यपरमार्थानि अशेषाण्येव भूपते

brāhmaṇa uvāca bhūyaḥ pṛcchasi kiṃ śreyaḥ paramārthanna pṛcchasi śreyāṃsyaparamārthāni aśeṣāṇyeva bhūpate

Sang brāhmaṇa berkata: “Engkau kembali bertanya, ‘Apa itu śreyas?’ namun engkau tidak bertanya tentang paramārtha, tujuan tertinggi. Wahai raja, semua ‘kebaikan’ yang bukan tujuan tertinggi itu sepenuhnya bersifat terbatas dan sekunder.”
