Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Viṣṇu-śikhā rite with Agneyī–Vāruṇī–Aiśānī śaktis and ‘phaṭ’","lookup_keywords":["śikhā","nyāsa","phaṭ","Agneyī","Vāruṇī","Aiśānī"],"quick_summary":"The verse prescribes a specific śikhā-rite in Viṣṇu-pūjā: invoke Agneyī, Vāruṇī, and Aiśānī śaktis (amṛta-nature), associate with Agni, and seal with ‘phaṭ’ for protection and completion."}

Concept: Mantra-nyāsa and śakti-invocation sacralize the practitioner’s body (especially śikhā region) as a ritual locus; ‘phaṭ’ functions as protective closure.

Application: In pūjā, perform śikhā-nyāsa with clear sankalpa: invoke the specified śaktis, visualize amṛta-like purification, then utter ‘phaṭ’ to seal and protect the rite.

FAQs

It teaches the correct performance of Viṣṇu’s śikhā-nyāsa (ritual placement/sealing at the śikhā point) invoking Agneyī, Vāruṇī, and Aiśānī śaktis, and sealing the act with the protective astrasound “phaṭ”.

Beyond mythology, it preserves precise ritual technology—nyāsa, śakti-invocation, and astramantra sealing—showing the Agni Purana as a compendium of applied liturgy and tantric-style protective procedures.

By performing śikhā-nyāsa with amṛta-natured śaktis and the “phaṭ” seal, the practitioner ritually purifies and protects the subtle body, aiming at removal of obstacles and safeguarding the worship of Viṣṇu.
