FAQs

It specifies the prerequisites for rāja-abhiṣeka: qualified ministers, a dharmic chief queen, a year-long preparatory period, and the full collection of ritual implements before performing the consecration at the appointed time.

By codifying political legitimacy through ritual procedure and personnel qualifications, it blends governance (rājadharma) with ceremonial orthopraxy—showing how the text functions as a practical manual across statecraft and ritual law.

A properly prepared abhiṣeka is presented as dharma-aligned kingship: it sanctifies royal authority, supports social order, and is implicitly merit-generating because it establishes rule under righteous and ritually valid conditions.
