Related Themes: Agni Purana 218 (abhiṣeka-vidhi and officiant roles)
It specifies role-allocation and sequencing in rājābhiṣeka: initial sprinkling using water from an earthen vessel by a Śūdra minister, followed by the formal consecration performed by an eminent Ṛgvedic (Bahvṛca) Brāhmaṇa.
It preserves procedural details of statecraft and liturgy together—showing how governance (appointment/ministerial function) and Vedic ritual authority (Bahvṛca-led abhiṣeka) are integrated within a single prescriptive manual-like passage.
The ordered anointing functions as purification and legitimation: the preliminary sprinkling prepares the rite materially, while the Bahvṛca-led consecration sacralizes kingship through Vedic authority, framing rule as dharma-aligned and ritually sanctioned.
