एवं श्रुत्वा द्वावपि तस्य तुष्टौ इन्द्राविष्णू दर्शयन्तौ स्वमूर्तिम् ॥ वाक्यं चेदमूचतुर्ब्रूहि नौ ते तुष्टौ धन्यं वरमेकं वदस्व ॥ तच्छ्रुत्वाऽसौ सत्यतपा उवाच ॥
evaṁ śrutvā dvāv api tasya tuṣṭau indrāviṣṇū darśayantau svamūrtim || vākyaṁ cedam ūcatur brūhi nau te tuṣṭau dhanyaṁ varam ekaṁ vadasva || tac chrutvā 'sau satyatapā uvāca ||
यह सुन के इंद्र और विष्णु दोनों खुश हो गए। उन्होंने अपना असली रूप दिखाया और कहा, हम दोनों तुझसे खुश हैं। एक वरदान माँग ले। यह सुन के सत्यतपा ने जवाब दिया।
