Varāha
Bhakti-infused giving and worship (anna-dāna/atithi-satkara + devī-pūjā) perfect a vrata.
Perform offerings and feeding as acts of reverence, not mere formality; prioritize devotion and proper sequence (vratānta).
On Navamī, conclude the observance with a piṣṭa offering, feed brāhmaṇas, and worship Devī Durgā with devotion.
Generates ritual merit and Devī’s favor; neglect implies loss of the intended fruit of the observance.
Devī-prasāda and completion/validation of the vow’s efficacy.
Varāha Purāṇa 64.64.4-6 (vrata continuation and fruits)
It preserves a Purāṇic template of domestic/public observance: concluding a vrata/fast, feeding learned recipients, and formal worship—useful for reconstructing medieval ritual culture and its ethical emphasis on hospitality.
No specific place-name appears in this verse; it is procedural (vrata-vidhi) rather than a tīrtha/geography reference.
The verse foregrounds devotional intentionality and social generosity—feeding others (here, brāhmaṇas) alongside worship—presented as an integral component of the observance.
