The Efficacy of Yamunā River Pilgrimage Sites
Merits of Mathurā-Region Tīrthas
yatra snātān manuṣyāṃś ca vighnarājo na pīḍayet | aṣṭamyāṃ ca caturdaśyāṃ caturthyāṃ tu viśeṣataḥ ||
Varāha
It preserves a ritual-calendar layer (tithi observances) that helps reconstruct lived pilgrimage timing and festival cycles in premodern North India.
The Vighnarāja-associated tīrtha within the Mathurā-region route described in this chapter.
It encourages disciplined timing and observance, presenting ritual order as a means to reduce 'obstacles' (vighna) in human life.
