Varāha
Outer order (krama) and bodily acts (touching earth, controlled lighting of lamp) train inner attentiveness and purity in worship.
Follow the exact pūjā-preliminaries: mantra with dantakāṣṭha, complete the grounding act (touching dharā) before lighting the dīpa; treat small steps as spiritually consequential.
In the preparatory rite, after taking up the tooth-stick with the prescribed mantra, do not light the lamp until the ground has been touched as required.
Correct sequencing preserves ritual purity and efficacy; violating order is treated as procedural fault that can reduce the rite’s fruit and require correction.
Varāha Purāṇa 118 (devopacāra procedural sequence)
It preserves a procedural micro-sequence of worship, useful for tracing the history of domestic/temple ritual ordering in Purāṇic sources.
None; “dharā” here denotes the ground/earth as a ritual referent, not a named place.
Ritual acts are to be performed with attention to sequence and prescribed preliminaries, emphasizing disciplined practice.
