The Arising of Diverse Dharmas: Devotional Observances and Varṇa-Based Duties
इच्छया अपि भवेद्भद्रे स्वर्गे वसति सुन्दरि ॥ स्वल्पकेन न गम्यन्ते दुष्प्राप्योऽहं वरानने ॥
icchayā api bhaved bhadre svarge vasati sundari || svalpakena na gamyante duṣprāpyo 'haṁ varānane ||

Varāha (default speaker per dialogue framework)
It illustrates a common Purāṇic hierarchy of aims: heavenly reward is depicted as comparatively accessible, while the highest attainment is framed as requiring sustained discipline and devotion.
No terrestrial location is named; ‘svarga’ functions as a cosmological realm rather than a mapable site.
Do not reduce spiritual pursuit to minimal effort; the text contrasts easy aspirations with the demanding cultivation required for the highest attainment.
