ॐ अथ भिक्षूणां मोक्षार्थिनां कुटीचकबहूदकहंसपरमहंसाश्चेति चत्वारः॥१॥

IAST Transliteration

oṁ atha bhikṣūṇāṁ mokṣārthināṁ kuṭīcaka-bahūdaka-haṁsa-paramahaṁsāś ceti catvāraḥ ||1||

Translation

जो लोग भिक्षा माँग के जीते हैं और मुक्ति चाहते हैं, उनमें चार तरह के लोग होते हैं। पहले होते हैं कुटीचक, दूसरे बहुदक, तीसरे हंस, और चौथे परमहंस। यह चारों अलग-अलग तरह के संन्यासी हैं।

Om. Now, of mendicants who seek liberation, there are four (types): the Kuṭīcaka, the Bahūdaka, the Haṁsa, and the Paramahaṁsa.
