Indra-invocation in soma context: energizing the heroic power, recalling the forging/impulsion of the vajra as archetype for overcoming obstruction.
Victory of Light over the Coverer (knowledge over obstruction), Increase of expansive force (pṛthu-gmāna, śavas)
Indra’s act restores ṛta by removing obstruction to the flow of light and power.
Truth becomes effective when will is shaped into a precise instrument.
Dawn-opening as a microcosmic ‘new creation’ where light re-forms the being.
Proto-Vedāntic/Integral-Yogic reading (Aurobindo): ascent to svàr through illumination and force.
dawn
Dawn = first illumination; thunderbolt = concentrated will; Vṛtra = inner obstruction; the ‘marvel’ = a new inspired formation of consciousness.
Forge the ‘vajra’ of discernment: one-pointed will aligned with truth.
maṇipūra (will/force) with support from ājñā (discernment)
Brisk-energetic recitation on exhale; brief kumbhaka after ‘vajra’ to feel concentration.
From tamasic fog to rajasic drive, then to sattvic clarity and mastery.
Meditate at dawn: identify one inner ‘Coverer’ (habit, fear, doubt). On each repetition, feel the light rising (vyuṣṭi), then shape a single decisive intention (vajra) and ‘strike’ the resistance by reaffirming the chosen truth-action.
Use Vedic udātta/anudātta/svarita as per Śākala tradition (exact svara requires saṃhitā-pāṭha notation; not fully derivable from plain text here).
Lean stress toward udātta syllables; keep svarita as a controlled fall; maintain pāda caesura after sense-breaks (|).
kaṃ naś: anusvāra before n; keep ‘naś’ with clear dental ś, cikitvān: ‘ci-’ short i; ‘tv’ conjunct clean, pṛthugmānam: vocalic ṛ in pṛ-; do not insert extra vowel in -thug-, vyuṣṭau: ‘yuṣ’ with ṣ; diphthong -au sustained, vajraṃ: jra conjunct; anusvāra before pause, vṛtraturam: vocalic ṛ in vṛ-; retroflex ṭ in -tura-
Bright, forward, resonant; end each pāda with controlled firmness.
