Outer meaning

Yoked with Indra, the singers release the pen rich in cows and horses; giving me the thousand, the ‘eight-eared’ ones made for me fame/hearing among the gods.

Inner meaning

When the illumined Mind (Indra) is yoked to the human striving, the chanters (vāghataḥ: those who offer the word) open the ‘vraja’—the inner enclosure where rays of knowledge (go) and forces of action (aśva) are held back. The ‘aṣṭa-karṇyaḥ’ (eight-eared) suggests heightened receptivity: multiple channels of inner hearing/intuitive reception. Through this opening, abundance (sahasra) flows—an expansive multiplicity of lights and energies—and the seeker gains ‘śravas’ among the gods: an established capacity to hear and be heard in the higher consciousness (recognition by the illumined powers).

Universal truth

Illumination joined to sincere effort releases imprisoned capacities. True abundance is the opening of knowledge and energy; true ‘fame’ is resonance with higher truth—an inner hearing that aligns life with the divine order.
