प्र वो महे सहसा सहस्वत उषर्बुधे पशुषे नाग्नये स्तोमो बभूत्वग्नये । प्रति यदीं हविष्मान्विश्वासु क्षासु जोगुवे । अग्रे रेभो न जरत ऋषूणां जूर्णिर्होत ऋषूणाम् ॥
prá vo mahé sáhasā sáhasvata uṣár-budhe paśu-sé nā́gnaye stómo babhūtv agnáye | práti yád īṃ havíṣmān víśvāsú kṣā́su jógūve | ágre rébho ná járata ṛṣūṇā́ṃ jūrṇír hótā ṛṣūṇā́m ||
बड़े बलवान के लिए गीत बनो, जो सुबह जगाता है और सब को देता है। यह गीत अग्नि के लिए है। जब कोई पूजा करता है और उसे बुलाता है, वो सब जगह से सुन कर जवाब देता है। वो आगे रहता है, जैसे कोई गायक कभी बुढ़ा नहीं होता। वो रिशियों का पुरोहित है, जो तेज़ी से चलता है, जो कभी बुढ़ा नहीं होता।
