यक्ष्मनाशनम्। अ॒ग्नेरि॑वास्य॒ दह॑त एति शु॒ष्मिण॑ उ॒तेव॑ म॒त्तो वि॒लप॒न्नपा॑यति । अ॒न्यम॒स्मदि॑च्छतु॒ कं चि॑दव्र॒तस्तपु॑र्वधाय॒ नमो॑ अस्तु त॒क्मने॑
yakṣmanā́śanam | agnér ivā́sya dáhata éti śuṣmíṇa utéva mattó vilapán apā́yati | anyám asmád ichatu káṃ cid avratás tapúḥ vadhā́ya námo astu takmáne
A destroyer of wasting sickness. As fire, burning, it goeth forth from him, from the vehement one; and as from a drunken man, wailing, it withdraweth. Let it seek another than us—some one, be he who he may, a vowless man—for the fever-heat to smite. Homage be unto Takman.
यह मंत्र बिमारी को आग की तरह जला के भगा देता है। बिमारी आदमी के अंदर से निकाल के भागती है, जैसे नशा में आदमी चिल्लाता है वैसे बिमारी रोना चिल्ला के हटती है। अब वोह बिमारी किसी और को ढूंढ ले, कोई भी हो, जो व्रत नहीं रखता, उस्से पकड़ ले। तक्मन नाम की बिमारी को प्रणाम है।
