वि॒दुष्टे॑ अ॒स्य वी॒र्यऽस्य पू॒रवः॒ पुरो॒ यदि॑न्द्र॒ शार॑दीर॒वाति॑रः सासहा॒नो अ॒वाति॑रः । शास॒स्तमि॑न्द्र॒ मर्त्य॒मय॑जुं शवसस्पते । म॒हीम॑मुष्णाः पृथि॒वीमि॒मा अ॒पो म॑न्दसा॒न इ॒मा अ॒पः
vidúṣ te asyá vīryàsya pūrávaḥ púro yád indra śāradī́r avā́tirāḥ sāsahāná avā́tirāḥ | śā́sastam indra mártyam áyajuṃ śavasaspate | mahī́m ámuṣṇāḥ pṛthivī́m imā́ ápo mandasāná imā́ ápaḥ
The Pūrus know this thy heroic might—when, conquering, thou didst overthrow the autumnal forts, O Indra, didst overthrow them. Most lordly, Indra, smite the mortal who sacrificeth not, O lord of strength. Thou hast not reft away the mighty Earth; these Waters—rejoicing—these Waters (are thine to uphold).
पुरु लोग जानते हैं तेरी असली ताकत। तूने उनके किले तोड़ दिए थे, इंद्र। जो इंसान पूजा नहीं करता, उसे तू सबक सिखाना। तू धरती को नहीं हिला सकता, पानी तेरे पास है। यह दोनों तेरे साथ हैं।
