Sukta 40
मा नो॑ मे॒धां मा नो॑ दी॒क्षां मा नो॑ हिंसिष्टं॒ यत् तपः॑ । शि॒वा नः॒ शं स॒न्त्वायु॑षे शि॒वा भ॑वन्तु मा॒तरः॑
mā́ no medhā́m mā́ no dīkṣā́m mā́ no hiṁsiṣṭaṁ yát tápaḥ | śivā́ naḥ śáṁ sántv ā́yuṣe śivā́ bhavantu mātáraḥ ||
Harm not our intelligence, harm not our consecration; injure us not in that which is our holy heat. Auspicious to us be peace for life; auspicious be the Mothers unto us.
हमारी बुद्धि को हानि मत पहुँचाना। हमारी पूजा की शक्ति को भी मत तोड़ना। हमारे तपस्या को भी मत बिगाड़ना। हमारे लिए शांति और लंबी उम्र बनाओ। माँ पानी, तुम हमारे लिए अच्छी बनो।
