मनोरथोपदेष्टा च कुत्रचित्क्वापि नेक्षितः । कदाचिद्दैवयोगात्स दमनो नाम तापसः
manorathopadeṣṭā ca kutracitkvāpi nekṣitaḥ | kadāciddaivayogātsa damano nāma tāpasaḥ
अपने हृदय के परम लक्ष्य का उपदेश देने वाला गुरु उसे कहीं भी न मिला; परन्तु एक बार दैवयोग से ‘दमन’ नामक तपस्वी (उसे) मिला।
