शिवदूता ऊचुः । ब्रह्मन्सुमहदाश्चर्यं शृणु कौतूहलं यदि । इमामुद्दिश्य चांडालीं यदुक्तं भवताधुना
śivadūtā ūcuḥ | brahmansumahadāścaryaṃ śṛṇu kautūhalaṃ yadi | imāmuddiśya cāṃḍālīṃ yaduktaṃ bhavatādhunā
शिवदूत बोले—हे ब्राह्मण! यदि तुम्हें कौतूहल हो तो यह अत्यन्त महान् आश्चर्य सुनो—इस चाण्डाली के विषय में जो तुमने अभी कहा है।
