Praise of Water-Gift and the Construction of Wells and Tanks
यत्कार्यं किंचिदास्थाय पुरुषस्तपते तपः । तत्सर्वं समवाप्नोति परत्रेह च मानवः
yatkāryaṃ kiṃcidāsthāya puruṣastapate tapaḥ | tatsarvaṃ samavāpnoti paratreha ca mānavaḥ
मनुष्य जिस भी उद्देश्य को लेकर तप करता है, वह उस सबको प्राप्त करता है—इस लोक में भी और परलोक में भी।
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu

It affirms the Shaiva principle that focused resolve (saṅkalpa) supported by tapas yields fruition across both planes—worldly well-being (iha) and posthumous/spiritual attainment (paratra)—when aligned with dharma and devotion.
In Uma Saṃhitā’s devotional-philosophical frame, tapas is most fruitful when oriented to Saguna Shiva—such as Linga worship—because discipline becomes an offering; the ‘aim’ is then not merely personal gain but nearness to Pati (Shiva), culminating in grace.
Adopt a clear vow and steady discipline: daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), Linga pūjā with bhāva, and simple tapas like fasting on auspicious Shiva days (e.g., Mahāśivarātri or Mondays), performed with purity and consistency.
