उपमन्युकुमारस्य क्षीरार्थ-प्रार्थना तथा शिवप्रसाद-निबन्धनम् | Upamanyu’s Longing for Milk and the Doctrine of Shiva’s Grace
शिव उवाच । वत्सोपमन्यो तुष्टोऽस्मि त्वदाचरणतो वरात् । दृढभक्तोऽसि विप्रर्षे मया जिज्ञासितोऽधुना
śiva uvāca | vatsopamanyo tuṣṭo'smi tvadācaraṇato varāt | dṛḍhabhakto'si viprarṣe mayā jijñāsito'dhunā
शिव बोले—“वत्स उपमन्यु! तुम्हारे उत्तम आचरण से मैं प्रसन्न हूँ। हे ब्राह्मणश्रेष्ठ! तुम दृढ़ भक्त हो; इसलिए मैंने अब तुम्हारी परीक्षा ली है।”
