nārīdṛṣṭyā sudṛṣṭā sā bhairaveṇa yadā mune | kuddhā'bhavacchivā devī taṃ śaśāpa tadāṃbikā

Translation

हे मुने, जब भैरव ने उस पर नारी-दृष्टि से—कामनापूर्ण, तन्मय दृष्टि से—नज़र डाली, तब देवी शिवा (अम्बिका) क्रुद्ध हुईं और उसी क्षण उसे शाप दे दिया।
