Description of Śiva Meditation and Worship
कलाविकरणाय नमोऽक्षतं च परिकल्पयेत् । बलविकरणाय नम इति पुष्पाणि दापयेत्
kalāvikaraṇāya namo'kṣataṃ ca parikalpayet | balavikaraṇāya nama iti puṣpāṇi dāpayet
“कलाविकरणाय नमः” मंत्र से अखंड अक्षत अर्पित करे। फिर “बलविकरणाय नमः” मंत्र से पुष्प समर्पित करे।
Suta Goswami (narrating prescribed worship as taught in the Kailasa Samhita)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
It teaches that Śiva’s grace is invoked through precise mantra and sincere upacāra (offerings): akṣata symbolizes wholeness and auspiciousness, while flowers symbolize devotion and inner purity, together awakening divine capacities (kalā) and strength (bala) in the sādhaka.
The verse is a practical instruction for saguna worship—addressing Śiva with specific epithets and offering tangible items to the Liṅga—so the devotee can approach the transcendent (nirguṇa) Lord through a compassionate, accessible form (saguṇa).
Perform mantra-offerings (upacāra) during Liṅga-pūjā: chant “kalāvikaraṇāya namaḥ” while offering akṣata, then chant “balavikaraṇāya namaḥ” while offering flowers, maintaining focused remembrance (bhāva) of Śiva as the source of sacred power.
