Sukta 9.85
अस्मान्त्समर्ये पवमान चोदय दक्षो देवानामसि हि प्रियो मदः । जहि शत्रूँरभ्या भन्दनायतः पिबेन्द्र सोममव नो मृधो जहि ॥
asmā́n samaryé pavamāna codaya dákṣo devā́nām ási hí priyó mádaḥ | jahí śátrūn abhyā̀ bhandanāyatáḥ píbendra sómam áva no mṛ́dho jahí ||
हे पवमान सोम, संग्राम में हमें आगे बढ़ा; क्योंकि तू देवों का दक्ष (कौशल) और प्रिय मद (आनन्द-उन्माद) है। जो शत्रु हमें बाँधने के लिए हम पर चढ़ आते हैं, उन्हें तू नष्ट कर। हे इन्द्र, सोम का पान कर; हमारी रक्षा कर और हमारे मार्ग को रोकने वाले आघातों को संहार कर।
