तमध्वरेष्वीळते देवं मर्ता अमर्त्यम् । यजिष्ठं मानुषे जने ॥
Transliteration
tám adhvaréṣv īḷate deváṃ mártā amártyam | yájiṣṭhaṃ mā́nuṣe jáne ||
Translation
यज्ञ-यात्राओं (अध्वरों) में मनुष्य उस देव—अमर अग्नि—की स्तुति करते हैं; वह मानव-जाति में यजिष्ठ, अर्थात् यज्ञ-कार्य में सर्वाधिक समर्थ है।
