Sita’s Lament and Resolve under Threat

Encircled by the demonesses, Sita was repeatedly humiliated by Ravana's cruel words. She wept like a young girl deserted in a desolate forest.
By portraying her surrounded, threatened, and isolated, the verse emphasizes that her suffering is coerced and external; her inner commitment to marital fidelity and righteousness remains intact even while she laments.
Satya is implicit in Sītā’s unwavering truthfulness and constancy to Rāma: even under Rāvaṇa’s intimidation and the demonesses’ pressure, she does not abandon her truthful resolve, though she grieves.
