The Line of Kuśa and the Disfigurement of Kuśanābha’s Daughters by Vāyu
ता: कन्या वायुना भग्ना विविशुर्नृपतेर्गृहम्।प्रापतन् भुवि सम्भ्रान्तास्सलज्जा स्सास्रलोचना:।।।।
tāḥ kanyā vāyunā bhagnā viviśur nṛpater gṛham | prāpatan bhuvi sambhrāntāḥ salajjāḥ sāsralocanāḥ ||
वायु से भग्न वे कन्याएँ राजा के भवन में जा पहुँचीं। व्याकुल होकर, लज्जित और आँसुओं से भरी आँखों वाली वे भूमि पर गिर पड़ीं।
"O my sons, govern with righteousness so that you will acquire immense merit'. Hearing the words of the rishi, the four sons who were the best among men and revered in the world constructed four cities as their abodes.
It underscores the human cost when power is used against dharma; innocence suffers, and social shame compounds physical harm.
After being afflicted by Vāyu, the daughters return to their father’s palace and collapse in grief and humiliation.
Endurance amid suffering; their return to the father also reflects reliance on rightful guardianship.
