बालो ह्यकृतविद्यश्च न च वेत्ति बलाबलम्।न चास्त्रबलसंयुक्तो न च युद्धविशारद:।।।।न चासौ रक्षसां योग्य: कूटयुद्धा हि ते ध्रुवम् ।

bālo hy akṛtavidyaś ca na ca vetti balābalam | na cāstrabalasaṁyukto na ca yuddhaviśāradaḥ || na cāsau rakṣasāṁ yogyaḥ kūṭayuddhā hi te dhruvam ||

वह तो बालक है, युद्धविद्या से अभी अनभिज्ञ; वह बल और अबल का भेद नहीं जानता। न वह अस्त्रबल से युक्त है, न युद्ध में निपुण; और वह राक्षसों के योग्य प्रतिद्वन्द्वी नहीं, क्योंकि वे निश्चय ही कूट-युद्ध करने वाले हैं॥
