The Manifestation of the Śloka
वाल्मीकिरथ तं दृष्ट्वा सहसोत्थाय वाग्यत: ।प्राञ्जलि: प्रयतो भूत्वा तस्थौ परमविस्मित: ।।1.2.24।।
vālmīkir atha taṃ dṛṣṭvā sahasotthāya vāgyataḥ | prāñjaliḥ prayato bhūtvā tasthau paramavismitaḥ ||1.2.24||
उन्हें देखकर वाणी-संयमी वाल्मीकि तुरंत उठ खड़े हुए। शुद्ध-चित्त होकर हाथ जोड़कर वे परम विस्मय से खड़े रहे॥
Greatly surprised to see him, Valmiki, purified by austerities and disciplined in speech, immediately got up and with folded palms stood before him.
Dharma requires humility and disciplined speech before the sacred; self-restraint safeguards truth (satya) and prevents careless words.
Vālmīki reacts to Brahmā’s sudden appearance by standing up and greeting him respectfully.
Vālmīki’s self-control (especially in speech) and reverential demeanor.
