Narada’s Summary to Valmiki
कोन्वस्मिन्साम्प्रतं लोके गुणवान्कश्च वीर्यवान् ।धर्मज्ञश्च कृतज्ञश्च सत्यवाक्यो दृढव्रत:।।।।
ko nvasmin sāmprataṃ loke guṇavān kaś ca vīryavān | dharmajñaś ca kṛtajñaś ca satyavākyo dṛḍhavrataḥ ||
इस समय संसार में वह कौन है जो गुणवान और वीर्यवान हो—जो धर्म को जानता हो, कृतज्ञ हो, सत्य बोलता हो और दृढ़ व्रत वाला हो?
"Who in this world lives today endowed with excellent qualities, prowess, righteousness, gratitude, truthfulness and firmness in his vows?
Dharma is defined through qualities: knowledge of right conduct, gratitude, truthfulness in speech, and unwavering commitment to vows.
