Narada’s Summary to Valmiki
प्रजापतिसमश्श्रीमान् धाता रिपुनिषूदनः ।रक्षिता जीवलोकस्य धर्मस्य परिरक्षिता ।।।।
prajāpatisamaḥ śrīmān dhātā ripuniṣūdanaḥ |
rakṣitā jīvalokasya dharmasya parirakṣitā ||1.1.13||
वे प्रजापति के समान श्रीसम्पन्न, धारण-पोषण करने वाले और शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले थे; वे समस्त जीव-जगत के रक्षक तथा धर्म के दृढ़ परिरक्षक थे।
Mighty and powerful, he has a well-proportioned body, neither tall nor short, shining complexion, well-developed chest, large eyes, lustrous body and good qualities.
Dharma is safeguarded through protection: sustaining life and restraining destructive forces are presented as complementary duties of righteous power.
Nārada frames Rāma not only as virtuous personally but as a cosmic-style guardian whose role is to uphold moral order.
Rakṣaṇa (protective guardianship): the capacity to preserve beings and uphold dharma through disciplined strength.
