Ṛṣis (Sages) addressing Sūta
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_journey":"From open inquiry (‘what else shall we hear?’) to a widened horizon of wonder as the sages request yuga-knowledge."}
It frames the transition into authoritative teaching: the sages request an accurate, reality-aligned exposition of the Yugas, implying that right understanding of sacred time supports right Dharma and right practice.
Indirectly: by asking for the true account of the Yugas, it prepares the listener to understand which practices are emphasized in different ages—often a key Purāṇic basis for recommending accessible bhakti-sādhana in later Yugas.
It points toward Kāla-vicāra (analysis of sacred time), closely connected with Jyotiṣa (Vedāṅga astrology/astronomy) and Purāṇic chronology—used to situate rituals, vows, and dharma within the correct temporal framework.
