Suta (narrator, continuing the Purāṇic account)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: karuna
The verse highlights Agni (Jātavedas) as a sacred witness and purifier in Purāṇic dharma, portraying a decisive act performed with total personal commitment in the presence of consecrated fire.
Indirectly, it frames surrender as complete self-offering—an attitude that, in Bhakti, is redirected from a physical act into inner dedication (ātma-nivedana) to the Lord, with Agni symbolizing purity and truth.
It points to Kalpa (ritual procedure) and the Vedic role of Agni as Jātavedas in yajña contexts—emphasizing how consecrated fire functions as a formal ritual medium and witness.
