FAQs

It reflects the moral-ethical frame often embedded in the Pralaya narrative: even amid cosmic crisis, transgression against divine order is shown to yield consequences (symbolized as “entering long darkness”).

It underscores restraint in speech and obedience to dharma: opposing rightful authority and speaking harshly—especially in critical times—invites grave karmic results, a theme applied in the Purana to rulers and householders alike.

No direct Vastu or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its takeaway is ethical—speech, humility, and adherence to dharma—often treated as prerequisites for ritual efficacy elsewhere in the Matsya Purana.
