Adhyaya 93 — The Goddess’s Boons to Suratha and the Merchant (Conclusion of the Devi Mahatmyam)
मार्कण्डेय उवाच ततो वव्रे नृपो राज्यं अविभ्रंश्यन्यजन्मनि ।
अत्रैव च निजं राज्यं हतशत्रुबलं बलात् ॥
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca tato vavre nṛpo rājyaṃ avibhraṃśy anyajanmani /
atraiva ca nijaṃ rājyaṃ hata-śatru-balaṃ balāt
मार्कण्डेय बोले—तब उस राजा ने वर माँगा कि अगले जन्म में उसका राज्य अचल रहे, और इसी जन्म में भी उसका अपना राज्य हो—जिसमें शत्रुओं की सेनाएँ पराक्रम से नष्ट हो चुकी हों।
