एवमाप्यायनं वत्स बहूनामिह बान्धवैः ।
श्राद्धं कुर्वदिभरन्नाम्बुबिन्दुक्षेपेण जायते ॥
evam āpyāyanaṃ vatsa bahūnām iha bāndhavaiḥ / śrāddhaṃ kurvadibharannāmbubindukṣepeṇa jāyate
इस प्रकार, हे प्रिय बालक, श्राद्ध किए जाते समय यहाँ बहुत से बंधुओं का पोषण होता है—अन्न के फेंकने से और जल की बूँदों के छिड़काव से भी।
