तेषां श्राद्धानि देयानि श्रुत्वा भारत भारतम् । ब्राह्मणेभ्यो यथाशक्त्या भक्त्या च भरतर्षभ
teṣāṃ śrāddhāni deyāni śrutvā bhārata bhāratam | brāhmaṇebhyo yathāśaktyā bhaktyā ca bharatarṣabha ||
वैशम्पायन बोले—भरतवंशी! इस भारत-इतिहास को सुनकर, उन सबके लिए श्राद्ध-क्रिया करनी चाहिए और भरतश्रेष्ठ! अपनी शक्ति के अनुसार ब्राह्मणों को श्रद्धा-भक्ति से दान देना चाहिए।
