तेषां वृत्ति परिणयेत् कक्रिद् राष्ट्रेषु तच्चर: । जिघांसव: पापकामा: परस्वादायिन: शठा:
teṣāṁ vṛttiṁ pariṇayet kakrid rāṣṭreṣu taccaraḥ | jighāṁsavaḥ pāpakāmāḥ parasvādāyinaḥ śaṭhāḥ ||
भीष्म ने कहा—राज्यों में घूमने वाला कोई गुप्तचर उनके जीवन-यापन और आचरण का पता लगाए—जो हत्या के इच्छुक हों, पापमय उद्देश्यों वाले हों, पराया धन हड़पकर जीते हों और कपटी हों।
