Educational Q&A

Consistent practice of the prescribed virtues yields tangible well-being in this life and leads to honor and exaltation after death—framing dharma as beneficial both socially and spiritually.

In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma continues his instruction on dharma to Yudhiṣṭhira; this verse serves as a concluding assurance that following the enumerated qualities brings worldly auspiciousness and posthumous heavenly reward.
