Daṇḍanīti and the King as the Cause of Yuga-Order (दण्डनीतिः राजधर्मश्च युगकारणत्वम्)
किलेके भीतर बहुत-सा ईंधन इकट्ठा कर ले और कुएँ खुदवाये। जल पीनेकी इच्छावाले लोगोंने पहले जो कुएँ बना रखे हों, उनको भी झरवाकर शुद्ध करा दे ।।
tṛṇacchannāni veśmāni paṅkenātha pralepayet | nirhṛtya ca tṛṇaṁ māsi caitre vahnibhayāt tathā |
घास-फूस से छाये हुए घरों को गीली मिट्टी से लिपवा दे। और चैत्र मास आते ही आग लगने के भय से नगर के भीतर की घास-फूस और तृण-काष्ठ आदि हटवा दे; खेतों से भी तृणादि निकाल दे—यही प्रजा-रक्षा के लिये समयोचित उपाय है।
