युधिष्ठिरस्य राज्याभिषेकः | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Royal Consecration
पृथिवीं च सुवर्ण च रत्नानि विविधानि च । आभिषेचनिकं भाण्डं सर्वसम्भारसम्भूतम्
pṛthivīṃ ca suvarṇaṃ ca ratnāni vividhāni ca | ābhiṣecanikaṃ bhāṇḍaṃ sarvasambhārasambhūtam ||
वैशम्पायन बोले—वे मिट्टी, सुवर्ण और नाना प्रकार के रत्न, तथा राज्याभिषेक के लिए आवश्यक समस्त पात्र और सामग्री—जो कुछ भी उस अभिषेक-कर्म के लिए चाहिए था—सब कुछ सम्यक् रूप से एकत्र करके ले आए।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the dharmic ideal that legitimate rule is established through orderly, sanctified procedure: kingship is not mere power but a responsibility inaugurated by consecration, requiring completeness, purity, and proper preparation.
The narrator describes the gathering of materials for a royal abhiṣeka (anointing): earth/clay, gold, gems, and the full set of ritual vessels and requisites needed to perform the consecration properly.
