अध्याय ३३७ — ज्ञानमार्ग-वैविध्यप्रश्नः तथा व्यासस्य नारायणोद्भवकथा
Systems of Knowledge and Vyāsa’s Nārāyaṇa-Origin
सम्भूता: सर्वसम्भारास्तस्मिन् राजन् महाक्रतौ । न तत्र पशुघातो5भूत् स राजैवं स्थितो5भवत्
sambhūtāḥ sarva-sambhārās tasmin rājan mahā-kratau | na tatra paśu-ghāto 'bhūt sa rājā evaṃ sthito 'bhavat ||
भीष्म ने कहा—राजन्, उस महान् यज्ञ में समस्त सामग्री भली-भाँति एकत्र की गई थी; पर वहाँ किसी पशु का वध नहीं हुआ। राजा उपरिचर इसी अभिप्राय से—अहिंसामय, धर्मसम्मत यज्ञ को स्थापित करने हेतु—उस यज्ञ में स्थित रहे।
