Nara-Nārāyaṇa–Nārada Discourse on Vision, Elements, and Entry into Vāsudeva

Even amid teachings on renunciation and spiritual attainment, the Mahābhārata acknowledges the ethical tenderness of human bonds: Vyāsa’s request shows pure, non-possessive affection—seeking only a moment to behold his son, without coercion or attachment-driven demand.
After hearing Śuka’s words, Vyāsa becomes joyful and addresses him lovingly, asking him to remain for a short time that day so Vyāsa may look upon him fully and satisfy his longing to see his son.
