Utkramaṇa-sthāna and Ariṣṭa-lakṣaṇa: Yājñavalkya’s Instruction on Departure Pathways and Mortality Signs

एतन्निदर्शनं सम्यगसम्यगनिदर्शनम्‌ । बुध्यमानाप्रबुद्धानां पृथग्पृथगरिंदम

etannidarśanaṃ samyag asamyag-anidarśanam | budhyamānāprabuddhānāṃ pṛthak pṛthag ariṃdama ||

यह सम्यक् ज्ञान और असम्यक् ज्ञान का उदाहरण है। हे शत्रुदमन! जो लोग समझ तो रहे हैं पर अभी पूर्णतः जाग्रत नहीं हुए, उन्हें ये दोनों पृथक्-पृथक् प्रतीत होते हैं। ज्ञानी पुरुषों का ज्ञान युक्तियुक्त और प्रमाणसमर्थ होने से श्रेष्ठ तथा (अज्ञानियों की धारणाओं से) भिन्न है; पर अज्ञानियों का तथाकथित ज्ञान अप्रामाणिक और तर्कहीन होने से ठीक नहीं—वह पूर्वोक्त सम्यक् ज्ञान से सर्वथा अलग है।
