परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
एवमेव ब्रह्माचारी शुश्रूषुर्घोरनिश्वय: । एवं युक्तो ब्राह्मण: स्यादन्यो ब्राह्मणको भवेत्
evam eva brahmacārī śuśrūṣur ghoraniścayaḥ | evaṁ yukto brāhmaṇaḥ syād anyo brāhmaṇako bhavet ||
इसी प्रकार जो ब्रह्मचारी गुरु-सेवा में तत्पर, ब्रह्मचर्य-परायण, दृढ़ निश्चयी और योगयुक्त है—वही सच्चा ब्राह्मण होता है। जो ऐसा नहीं है, वह निम्न कोटि का या केवल नाममात्र का ब्राह्मण माना जाता है।
