कपिलगोसंवादे गृहस्थ-त्यागधर्मयोः प्रमाण्यविचारः

किसी समय माता-पिता उनको छोड़कर उड़ गये। अब वे बच्चे कभी आकर फिर चले जाते और जाकर फिर चले आते थे, इस प्रकार वे सदा आने-जाने लगे। उस समयतक जाजलि मुनि हिले-डुले नहीं ।।
tathā te divasaṃ cāpi gatvā sāyaṃ punar nṛpa | upāvartanta tatraiva nivāsārthaṃ śakuntakāḥ ||
भीष्म ने कहा—नरेश्वर! वे छोटे पक्षी दिनभर आहार की खोज में उड़ जाते और संध्या होने पर उसी स्थान पर बसेरा लेने लौट आते थे। इस प्रकार उनका आना-जाना नियमित हो गया, और जाजलि मुनि अचल, धैर्यवान होकर वैसे ही स्थिर रहे।
