सर्वे देवा मर्त्यसंज्ञाविशिष्टा: सर्वे मर्त्या देवसंज्ञाविशिष्टा: । तस्मात् पुत्र मा शुचो राजसिंह पुत्र: स्वर्ग प्राप्प ते मोदते ह
sarve devā martyasaṁjñā-viśiṣṭāḥ sarve martyā devasaṁjñā-viśiṣṭāḥ | tasmāt putra mā śuco rājasimha putraḥ svargaṁ prāptaḥ te modate ha ||
भीष्म ने कहा—सब देवता किसी न किसी रूप में ‘मर्त्य’ की संज्ञा से युक्त हैं और सब मर्त्य किसी न किसी रूप में ‘देव’ की संज्ञा से युक्त हैं। इसलिए, पुत्र, शोक मत करो, हे राजसिंह। तुम्हारा पुत्र स्वर्ग को प्राप्त हुआ है; वह वहाँ निश्चय ही आनन्दित है।
