भरद्वाज उवाच
The colophon indicates that the chapter’s focus is the account of the origin of mānasa-bhūtas—beings described as arising from mind—framed within a dharma-oriented inquiry by sages. It signals a reflective, metaphysical teaching typical of the Śānti Parva, where understanding origins supports ethical discernment and inner peace.
This line is a concluding colophon: it announces that the 183rd chapter has ended, identifies its placement within the Śānti Parva and the Gokṣa-dharma sub-section, and notes that it occurs during the Bhṛgu–Bharadvāja dialogue, with the chapter’s subject being the description of the origin of mind-born beings.
