Dharma is upheld through orderly performance of prescribed obligations: honoring both the gods (deva-yajña) and the ancestors (pitṛ-yajña) by offering each their due share according to scriptural procedure.
A ritual sequence is described: the performer begins divine and ancestral rites, formally invokes Indra and other deities, and distributes offerings to each in the correct, rule-governed order.
